No Hugging, We Are Muslims - Page 3

Mankind is evolving. It's time for us to open up our minds and emerge from that tiny coconut shell of a life that we lead and THINK for ourselves whether or not these so-called teachings are correct and whether or not we should still apply it in this time and age.

Don't tell me you 're still gonna amputate the hands of thieves and cut out the tongues of liars like they do in ancient times? Religion and the understanding of our religion changes and evolves through time, certain things which were considered a norm in ancient times are considered barbaric now. Why not this labelling of hugging as a sin? can you please tell me why hugging is so bad and considered a sin? I think it's more important to teach muslim people that incest is much more of a sin than hugging.

You like it..you follow it and if you dont then dont follow it but please dont try to look down on what others believe.

What is right for you might be wrong for others.

Progress/evolve is very subjective......at least to me it is

I very well know that it is a teaching of Islam.
Like I said, it is also a teaching of Islam to have an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth not too long ago until people came to realise that it is barbaric to do so. If what I say is wrong in your eyes as a muslim, can you kindly explain to me as to why hugging is such a sin? Did your religion give you a choice to choose which teaching to follow and which not to follow? If so, why choose to uphold the teaching of hugging others which are not blood related to you being sinful?

You're not alone. I have lots of muslim friends and we hug quite often too. Especially if we haven't seen each other for a long time. They don't seem to mind. They seem to take it as naturally.
