That's how they control where your votes go. If it is what they consider a pro-opposition area, then they will NOT assign more seats. But it's a pro-government area, they will assign more seats even if the population growth is minimal. It's called gerrymandering.

If you want to change your IC's address, just get it done early because after changing, you have to register yourself with the Election Commission (can get the form at the post office). It will take about 6 months (I think) to get the registration processes.

Otherwise, you can leave your IC address as it is (like what I did) and go back and vote in the constituency covering your old IC address.

Eh, no need.... If you do not want to change your IC's address, then just sign up. All you have to do is vote in the constituency covers your current IC address.

For example, my IC address is in Prai, Penang. So, I have to go back to Prai to vote whenever there are elections.

Actually, Petronas and AirAsia has been sponsoring F1 teams, now they merely sponsoring a new established team.

As for Lotus, Proton involvement, that is subject to debate.

I think running a team itself will cost a lot money than just being one of the sponsors.

Plus, it's rather foolish to sponsor a new team when the economy isn't all that steady yet. Even established teams with solid track records have quit.

IMHO, this is yet another way for the political parties in power to siphon money from Petronas. The key word would be "consultation fees".

Petronas and AirAsia are technically not government owned (maybe not Petronas, since it's GLC).

Lotus had very strong heritage in F1 back in the 60s up to late 80s. I doubt there's anyone left from the old Lotus team when they quitted in 1994.

It's really stupid when the local press keep saying about the 1Malaysia F1 Team, while the internation press keep refering it as Lotus Team.

It is just as silly when Petronas, being the sponsor for Sauber team a few years back before BMW took over, keep 'advertising' about the Malaysian engineer in the team. Lame.

As I was telling karhoe on IM, I wonder if they are going to make use of our Mat Rempits whom one BN politician claimed was superior to even Honda engineers!!!

Oh yeah, I found the report. He didn't actually say that the Mat Rempits were better than Honda engineers. He claimed that a Honda rep said so, but hey, we all know there's no such rep because no one is as stupid as this guy!

Quote:
KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 20 (Bernama) -- Illegal motorcycle riders or "Mat Rempit" will be rebranded by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi at an assembly in the Bukit Jalil National Stadium this November, says Putera Umno Chairman Datuk Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim.

He said the rebranding of Mat Rempit was to change the illegal race participants' image towards something better, and "we are thinking of a suitable name like Mat Cemerlang (Excellent Mat)."

"We are finding a proper direction for them. We could not stop them to continue with their interests but we can guide them to find a direction," he told reporters after officiating the Malaysian Pengasih Association's Eighth General Meeting here Sunday.

Abdul Azeez said they should not be perceived as a threat, adding that, "If we cannot stop them, we join them. We try to understand them because they are our youths."

At the three-day assembly starting from this Nov 12, several competitions would be held for the Mat Rempit with prizes including a Satria Neo and a motorcycle.

Abdul Azeez said several things that could be learnt from these illegal riders were their strong camaraderie and a large membership of at least 5,000 riders despite being an unregistered club.

"Due to this strong bond, 30 Mat Rempit will beat us if we cause trouble with its members," he added.

He said Putera Umno did not want the bond to be inclined towards negative elements but wanted to drive the youths away from drugs and encouraged them to pursue their studies.

He said for an example, a representative from a Honda motorcycle and car dealer was impressed with the riding skills of these Mat Rempit.

The representative was also amazed with the engineering skills of the Mat Rempit, boosting the speed of their motorcycles to 180 kilometres per hour considering that the company's engineers were having difficulties to achieve a speed of 120 kilometres per hour.

He said these Mat Rempit could actually be assets in building Malaysia if they were given the chance.

Abdul Azeez said this Aug 26, he and Umno Youth Vice Chief Khairy Jamaluddin would come down to the ground on their motorcycles to meet the Mat Rempit.
Imagine. Honda engineers are nothing compared to a bunch of uneducated motorcyclist hoodlums.

If F1 cars can do 350 km/h, these guys will ramp it all the way up to 525 km/h!!! Heck, they will even teach you how to do a "Superman"!

If this Abdul Azeez joker and Khairy unleash their Mat Cemerlangs, I think we can CONFIRM winning the Grand Prix. Move over, Schumi, it's the era of the Mat Cemerlang now!
