- BIOS Setting: AC'97 Audio
- Options: Enabled, Disabled
- Motherboard: GA-7ZXE
- Chipset: VIA KT133A (I think)

Since I have an SB Live!, and I've disabled the onboard Realtek sound, is it worth keeping this setting enabled? The mobo manual implies that it's a codec chip, separate from the Realtek processor. What does AC'97 en/decode, anyway?

- Upon investigation, this actually is the master Enable/Disable control for the onboard 'VIA Audio'. It threw me off initially, since there's a setting below to enable/disable 'Legacy Audio Support'.

Question

Another obscure setting from my bios. I think it could be a misnomer for PCI Delayed Transaction/PCI 2.1 Compliance but I would like Adrian or anyone else would confirm.

BIOS Option : Enhance PCI Performance
Options : Disabled/Enabled
Description : Unknown
Motherboard : ABIT NF7 2.0
Chipset : nVIDIA nForce 2

Hello Johnway,

Memory Hole has already been covered. It is also known as Memory Hole At 15M-16M.

That description of Memory Hole is wrong. It's actually for System BIOS Cacheable.

Located in "Advanced Chipset Features" \ "LDT & PCI Bus Control"

BIOS Option : HT Stop Tristate

Options : Driven (Default), Tristate

Description : n/a

Motherboard : Abit kv8pro 1.1 revision with BIOS .23

Chipset : VIA K8T800 Pro

Edit: Found this today. Quoted from here

Quote:
The HT Stop Tristate option controls the HyperTransport response to a CRC type error, with the option of the bus working in a tristate mode. In the case of a CRC error, the LDT bus goes in to a floating state if tristate mode is enabled.
I still have no clue which setting is better.
