This mysterious BIOS option has plagued me (and many BOG readers!) for months! Even a search on the vaunted Google search engine revealed just 17 links! All of which had virtually no information on this BIOS feature. Two links actually point back to Adrian's Rojak Pot!

The name itself is very misleading as the AGP bus does not have a secondary latency timer. But even certain motherboard manufacturers insist that it does nothing but point to the location of the mysterious secondary latency timer of the AGP bus.

But I am happy to say that I finally figured out what this BIOS feature is all about!

After months of probing and analysis, I am confident that the motherboard manufacturers are wrong yet again. The AGP Secondary Lat Timer does not refer to the AGP bus' secondary latency timer. And unlike what I have been told, it has implications on the performance of both AGP and PCI buses!

Although we normally accumulate a number of BOG options before posting it into the FREE section of the BIOS Optimization Guide, we will release this BIOS feature as a special update for both the Subcription-only and Free sections so that no one has to wait to read about it!
