BTW, if you like such stuff, there's an alley with 2-3 stores selling snails, cockles and taufus near the Tan Kim Hock store. Very nice actually... although I did get a stomach ache once.

Well, it's not surprising if there's a queue! Even I would want to find out what's so good... Hehe..

For some reason, everyone goes there, especially Singaporeans and tourists. Maybe it's the oldest place there.

After queuing up for 1/2 hour, we were told that's not the best place to go. But we were there for that long. So we just continued lining up.

i have been to that alley before. but i doubt chai will like it since its cockles, kangkung sotong and etc.

Yes! And snails too!! I've seen the supplier arriving at the alley in a motorcycle with a HUGE plastic bag of snails. I wonder where they got them from... I guess a farm somewhere cause Malaysia supplies France with escargot.

It's dirty... but it's quite nice... and it's a real "experience". Hehehe... Just be prepared to "sit on your throne" after a visit.
