BOG Contest #3 : Treasure Hunt!

Details :

• Every three days, we will release questions in the forum thread. The answers will provide clues for you to progress in the treasure hunt.
• Do NOT post the answers to the clues. They will only help your competitors.
• Follow those clues and they will lead you to more questions and clues.

• There will be five main stages and one final stage.
• The clues will be released in this sequence :-
  
  Stage 1 - Days 1, 3, 6
  Stage 2 - Days 9, 12, 15
  Stage 3 - Days 18, 21, 24
  Stage 4 - Days 27, 30, 33
  Stage 5 - Days 36, 39, 42
  Final Stage - Days 45, 48, 51

• At the end of each main stage, you will be asked to post something in the forum thread as proof of your success in reaching that stage.
• Be sure to do it as quickly as you can because we will only list the first six participants to complete the stage.
• We will also post the answers to the clues in each main stage so that you can check them out and see where you went wrong.

• The first person to get to each main stage automatically wins a prize!
• If the first person to complete the stage wins another prize in this contest, the second person to reach that stage wins the prize. And so on.
• Therefore, you are encouraged to post your results, even if you are not the first to reach that stage.

• The first person to reach the final stage and follows the instructions at the end wins the TREASURE!

Note : Some clues will require you to have a copy of the BOG book to solve.

The Rules For This Contest!

• Do NOT post answers to the questions in the thread. You are only allowed to post your unique identification (provided in each main stage) as proof that you have made it to that stage.
• The first six participants to complete each stage will be announced at the end of each stage.
• Each participant can only win one prize in this contest.
• In the event the first person to complete the stage wins another prize in this contest, the second person to reach that stage wins the prize. If the second person wins more than one prize, the third person will win the prize instead. And so on. Therefore, you are encouraged to post your results, even if you are not the first to reach that stage.
• This contest ends when the first person to find the treasure posts his/her results in the forum thread on or after Day 51.
• All entries must be posted in the proper forum thread for this contest.

The Clues!

Stage 1 @ Day 1

1. When did Adrian's Rojak Pot establish itself as a true hardware enthusiast website? (dd-mm-yyyy)


2. Add the numbers (d + d + m + m + y + y + y +y) in your answer together. Read that page in the BOG book. It will help you answer the next question.


3. If you have an NVIDIA GeForce 2 card, you will need to drive to page xxx.


4. There is a mistake in the table. Go to the page that the mistake points out and read it.


5. There are multiple levels to this option. What is it?

Got the answer? Good! Hang in there and wait for the next clue!

The questions are easy to follow, aren't they? Heh.. These are just the warming up clues. As we go on, it will get harder.


Stage 1 @ Day 3

6. Replace the xxx in http://www.rojakpot.com/article/Cont...G_Book/xxx.htm with the answer from question no. 5. Load up that URL in your browser.


7. Find out what uses an extended battery. Look for its weight in grams.


8. Add up the digits of the answer in question no. 7 and look up the page in the BOG book.


9. Find out how old that example BIOS is. Add the three groups of numbers together (as shown in the book).


10. Replace the xxx in http://www.rojakpot.com/showarticle.aspx?artno=xxx with the answer from question no. 9 and load it up in your browser.

Got the right page? Good! Now, you can relax and wait for the next set of clues!


Stage 1 @ Day 6 (Final Day!)

11. Find out when the person who wrote the guide signed up in the forums (dd-mm-yyyy)!


12. Remove all the zeroes from the answer to question no. 11. Add the three number groups together and go to that page in the book!


13. One of the BIOS features in that page does not work well with BeOS. Find the same BIOS feature in the Detailed Descriptions section.


14. What core did this BIOS feature first appeared in? Replace the xxx in http://www.rojakpot.com/article/Cont...G_Book/xxx.htm with the answer. Load up that URL in your browser.


15. Find out what's the model of the flash memory controller used in this product. Replace the xxx in http://www.rojakpot.com/article/Cont...G_Book/xxx.htm with the answer. Load up that URL in your browser.
