My colleague was robbed and slashed by thieves at home

（大山腳訊）兩名匪徒持刀闖入住宅行竊時，揮刀砍傷屋主。當時在屋內的設計師聽到家人求救聲後，發現家裡進 賊，立刻機警的悄悄從陽台躍下，伺機將竊匪停在門前的轎車的車匙拔走，然後向鄰居求助。竊匪在逃離時發現車 匙不見了，只好棄車而逃。

週四早上8點多，住在武吉敏惹花園半獨立房子的設計師王榮財（24歲）在樓上洗澡，突然間聽到母親和弟弟的 求救聲。他查看之下，發現匪徒正要脅家人。他在沒有驚動匪徒的情形下從樓上陽台攀到隔壁空屋的陽台，然後跳 下。


弟弟被砍傷

他跳下後，發現一輛陌生的金絲雀國產車停在家門前，車匙還在車內，他懷疑那是匪徒的車，於是拔掉車匙，再向 附近鄰居求助及報警。幾分鐘後，兩名匪徒發現車匙不見了，只好棄車逃走。

匪徒逃走後，王榮財擔心家人的安危，立刻回家查看。他一進入大門，就發現弟弟（21歲）手部被砍傷，滿身浴 血，母親的頭部受傷流血，未受傷的妹妹則飽受驚嚇。王榮財立刻將家人送到醫院治療。目前他的弟弟已渡過危險 期，母親受輕傷。

王榮財說，據他的家人描述，兩名竊賊當時都持有長巴冷刀，聽口音很像是外勞。不過他的家人目前在醫院治療， 暫時未能向警方提供口供，所以不清楚他們是否記得匪徒的樣貌。

他表示，該區是新興住宅區，他才搬到該處居住一個月多，附近居民稀少。他相信匪徒觀察一段時間後才出手。由 於匪徒只搶了一個錢包就逃走，所以暫不知損失多少。

使用假車牌幹案

威中警方刑事部和鑑證組接獲投報後趕到現場調查，結果發現匪徒的車子是租來的，車主在吉打州居林。警方也在 車內發現3個頭盔和另一個車牌。匪徒當天是使用假車牌造案。警方相信這兩個匪徒幹案已久。

由於案發現場的大門沒有被撬開的痕跡，警方相信竊賊是趁屋主開門時闖入屋內，然後持刀要脅屋主 。

樓上主人房的地板布滿血跡，令人怵目驚心，相信匪徒是在該處砍傷人後再拖著傷者下樓。 （光明日報‧2007.03.01）

Damn.. what is happening to Malaysia? To have this happen to someone you know is really something.

I heard that he was slashed twice.. on each arm and his head is injured too. Still in ICU today. On the left arm, the slash injured his blood vessel (or something like that) and has to be substitute by some from his leg. It was said that after full recovery, his arm will gain back only 20%.

WTF????

Will visit him tomorrow.

A few days earlier, my colleague's friend (this is another colleague, not the one who got slashed) was talking on the phone after a night drinking session by the road side. Suddenly, a Kelisa stopped by the road side, and a guy wearing a helmet came down with a parang, went over to the guy talking on the phone, and slashed him at the stomach. Luckily the guy was able to get out of the way a little, so he only suffered minor injury. If not, then gone case man his stomach.

The robber was able to get away with his wallet or handphone or something like that. Well, my colleague's friend was a bit drunk at that time.

DYKT: The robbers that slashed my colleague was driving a Kelisa too? We suspected they are the same people.

A few of us went over to the hospital in Penang to visit my friend earlier today. He's still taking morphine at the moment to lessen the pain, about 1.* mg now. Will reduce tomorrow and take pills later.

From his story, it was 7am+ in the morning when his mom suddenly called out. He went out to see what's happening. And a guy rushed at him with a parang, slashed his right arm. After that, robber no.1 guard him and his mom. And robber no.2 went in search for stuffs. My colleague and his mom tried to fight back to free themselves. My colleague sprayed robber no.1 with a bottle of Ridsect (mosquitoe repellant) on his face, then they tried to take down robber no.1. But my colleague got slashed for the 2nd time on his left arm. This is the serious one where he got an operation on.

robber no.2 went to robber no.1 to see what happened and they fled after that. My colleague got him self injured on the head where he got slashed as well, but not that serious, right and left arms. His mom's head was injured too when the robber threw his parang at her.

During all these, his brother was upstairs, I heard he got injured too but dunno how he managed to fled to the balcony next door, jumped down, informed his neighbours to call the police. He also found a Kelisa with engine running. He pulled out the keys. Damn smart fella...

That was it... the robbers found keys stolen from the car and fled by foot.

Damn... it was indeed a close call for the family. Luckily nothing fatal happened to them.

Hmm.. come to think of it... why fight back? Steal steal lo. But I think they were scared at that time and no time to think it over. Sigh...

FYI, peaz's ex-housemate got snatched 3 times last year. the last time, the robber actually pointed the knife at her. she is the champ.

no matter what u do, u just cant prevent it. If you don't carry any handbeg, they will still push, or maybe beat, u down and take the stuff from ur pocket

don't ever walk alone, especially from (7-8am/pm). this is their "primetime".
but housewives never ever listened. that's why it always happened in front of my place (i used to stay very near to the SS2 pasar malam, close to the main road). i've lost count actually.

Ask me again why it cheers me up to read about snatch thieves getting into accidents and maiming or killing themselves after robbing someone. It's not because I'm evil. I just think it's karma!

Can you carry knife or gun for self defence there? What are the laws there?

Where's the shotgun? If these robbers come and attack, I'll not hesitate to pull the trigger. These robbers are getting more afraid and desperate - because they want to cripple/attack the victim first before they extort. Sigh, where are the police when we need them?????

Unfortunately, we are not allowed to bear arms. We are supposed to count on the police... but our police are always not around.

Then again, some policemen have been caught moonlighting as snatch thieves! It's like asking the wolves to guard the sheep...
