Adding Google Adsense to phpBB forum

Was asked to do it for a phpBB forum. Googling was a tough one but finally managed to find it and customized it. So, for those who are looking for the same thing, this may help. It's for phpBB3 though.

I've experience adding Google Adsense to the Tech ARP Forum which is using the vBulletin quite a while ago.

Quite a while ago too, Adrian Wong, CEO of Tech ARP asked me whether it's possible to add Google Adsense to another forum which is using phpBB.

I was too busy then but managed to find some time yesterday to do it. I've not much experience in PHP, so that makes it quite a task to code something up. But fortunately, I'm quite good at googling.

Not much straightforward stuffs in Google and phpBB forum though. Anyway, from many websites, I've managed to come up with something quite good. Early yesterday, I got the ads after first post working. Last night, I've managed to add the last post Google Adsense which was so simple that it never crossed my mind.

Hence, this post entry so that I can jot down what I did for quick reference and share with everyone who needs a quick fix to the problem at hand, that's to add Google Adsense after the first post and after the last post in every topic page. I wanted to add it to the index page as well, but thought it's not much of a point to do so and I heard many are saying that this violates Google TOS but some said it's not a problem, as not to have problems later, I'll leave it at that.
