Default Bougainvillea Close-Up Shot

- - - [ imaging by Sony Ericsson k750i ] - - -

Just played around with the Macro shot on my camera.
Picture taken in my garden in intense sunlight.

Btw, just for the record, the pic wasn't taken with Godlike-cams like DSLRs. So if you compare with DSLR pics, it's quite embarassing. hehe.

Please give your comments, dear sifus.
I really appreciate it.

Thank you.

If possible, try to use sky as your background.

Thanks Trin! I was looking for red or yellow flowers to show more contrast but couldn't find any in my garden.

Chai: Then the flowers wouldn't be looking at the camera already. It'll be like taking a pic of the flower buttocks.

Hmm. I think it would look nicer with a more shallow DOV. You can either try using a larger aperture or zooming into the flower while standing back (it would give the same effect.)

Well, you can always "cheat" in situations like this It isn't exactly typing in "IDDQD" or "IDKFA"

But.. what you can do it this, (most ppl do it anyway to get a nicely composed shot), bend the flower to the position you want!

Ok. Thanks for the advice.
The leaves are quite in-line with the flower, so the DOF (even though shallow) would be make the leaves in focus.
Because I was aiming to shoot the leaves together to give contrast to the flower. Is this a bad idea?

Chai and peaz: OMG. bend the flower? LOL. If i can, i'll try that. hehe. Thanks.,

Here's an example.

http://forums.rojakpot.com/attachmen...0&d=1125767991

I took that rose pic from about 3 or 4 feet away (cant really rememeber ) with a relatively small aperture. F/7.1 218mm zoom.
