Default xD-Picture Card "Card Error" on Olympus camera

hey guys,

my friend have a "card Error" when he inserts his xD into his Olympus mju 300 digital, camera. ..

well,... he did a big mistake by formatting his card with the PC ..
now he has 2 cards rendered unless for the camera...

the camera is fine... i've tested it using a working xD card ..

the xD cards can be accessed from the PC ..
but the camera will display "card error" on the xD card which is formatted using the PC ...
+ it is impossible to format the xD card with the camera.. it gives "Card error" error again ..

anyway has suggestions ? ..

That STINKS!!!

First thing that comes to mind is to contact card manufacturer. Not sure if I would be so open about how the cards got screwed up...

Good Luck!

Can you ask him to format the card using the PC again, but this time, using FAT16?

Technically, it shouldn't be a problem using PC to format the card.

Since xD is a specialized format, it could have certain parameters that the PC might have erased when formatting it (as a PC would just treat it like any other memory card).

I doubt FAT16/32 would work since both of this file system are by products of Windows.
