Default Camera Battery OEMvsGeneric

I have NB-1LH battery that go's with my Canon Powershot S-400 that is going dead. I have looked it up and the "canon" model costs like $45usd. But there are generic models out there for like $9usd.

Should I get the cheap battery, Or will I pay in the end with a generic.
Any thoughts?

I've a generic battery for my D70. Using it for emergency backup purposes only generally, they are usually ok. But it's always safer to get originals because if anything happens, then you can claim warranty.

I always buy original battery. They usually last a lot longer, both lifespan and battery life.
