Unlike D300 which uses the main AF sensor, so the mirror has to flip up before it can focus. The image contrast based focusing (like most P&S, which doesn't really use any hardware sensor) doesn't have any interuption, but it's a lot slower than AF sensor. But D300 has far superior main AF sensor. |

The Sony A350's LiveView display has a delayed reaction while the Nikon D300's LiveView display is instantaneous. OT a bit, but we also tested its rapid fire speed. The Sony was surprisingly slow, even slower than the Olympus (E-500??). The D300's speed was the fastest - fapfapfapfap! Have to admit though that the D300's LiveView can be confusing for a newbie to use. When you press the shutter button completely and the picture goes out, you could not be wrong for thinking it already took the picture, but well, it was just focusing. The picture had not yet been taken! ![]()

If you attach the video output cable to a recorder... you get a really good video feed. that's cos the video output just shows everything that you see on the LCD screen. Talk about an interesting use of the liveview feature on the nikon D300. LOL! |
