Default Any Camcorder suggestion?

HI everyone.

Anyone here using Camcorder? Any good suggestion for a camcorder?

Budget around RM2000.

Preferable:
- HD receoding (future proof)
- Optical Image Stabilization
- HDD or SDHC media
- Long lasting battery
- any other if necessary.

I would go with a Sony Handycam. Very good models with good battery life, although the Canon also has some very good models.

HDD and SDHC camcorders produce video clips that are readily transferred out and viewed. However, editing them can be problematic as the AVCHD format hasn't been standardized yet AFAIK.

Tape makes for easier editing although you would be limited to about 1 hour of recording per tape.
