In the center of the table is a steel pot with the satay sauce inside. It is heated by a small gas stove below the pot.

This is a more dilute type of satay sauce. If it is too thick, then the satay sauce will not circulate as it is heated and end up burnt.

A variety of food on a stick will be provided. Each stick costs RM 0.40. That's roughly USD 0.10.

You take one or more sticks and dip it in the sauce. Once the meat or whatever is cooked, you can eat it off the stick or place it on your plate. The sauce sticks to the food and gives it the satay taste.
