Remember me telling you guys about this great "beef bak kut teh" place I regularly visit here in Melaka? Umm.. Maybe it's more accurate to call it claypot beef.

Well, I finally found time to edit the pictures I took of it. Check it out!

Here is Uncle Loi! Very nice man. Makes great claypot beef!

He prepares each claypot individually. Here, he chops up some beef for my claypot.

In each claypot is a selection of different parts of the beef. Yes, including tripe.

Here is a shot of the black pepper beef broth in the claypot.

Uncle Loi adds some fried bean curd sheets. He fries them beforehand so they taste especially good!

He adds in some <can't remember what this part of the beef is called> which must be kept rare.

He lets it simmers a while...

And adds some chopped Chinese cabbage...

And it's ready to eat!

Uncle Loi serves it with onion-flavoured rice. Oh man... I really need to go eat it again!

MMMmmmmmm!

I would love to try,,, And I would like to make "taco's" out of it.

Like 2 spoons full in a soft,, and or hard taco shells, and have as many as it takes to have that whole bowl!!!

With lots of hot sauce!!!

Well, the serving depends on how many people are eating. Uncle Loi has different claypot sizes to cater to anywhere from one person to 4-5 people.

If I'm not wrong, each person's serving cost RM 7.50 (USD 1.97) excluding rice and drinks.

But since each serving is HUGE, I normally order 1.5 servings for two people. And since I am a regular, Uncle Loi charges me only RM 10 (USD 2.63) for 1.5 servings, rice and drinks!

Picture of the fried rice I had for lunch today. I just find it interesting that the extra luncheon meat (SPAM) that I ordered looked like a fish, complete with a over fried round thingy for it's eyes.

OK.. I didn't get a nice angle on the picture.
