I attended a Samsung dinner last month at KLCC. It was a posh thing with dance-song routines. Very loud, Chinese affair. Food was only so-so although portion was reasonably big. The food was bigger on presentation than taste or quality.

Anyway, managed to get a shot of the Four Seasons dish (the first one). There was Japanese chuka idako (sweet marinated squid) in the middle, mango kerabu (Thai pickled salad) on the upper right, some kind of fried fritters in the front... and if I'm not mistaken, stir-fried oysters hiding in the mini cabbage bowl on the left.

I couldn't take the other dishes because the waiters served the portions individually. But I did take a picture of plastic gloves they provided. They make it easy to peel and eat the herbal prawns (one of the dishes).

Ah.. no.. My fine dining experiences are all freebies and that one wasn't particularly good actually.

I mean you would have expected spectacularly good food at such an expensive and posh place but no, it was only so-so... the fish wasn't particularly fresh.

If you want to see great food, check out the photos I posted of the Samsung dinner at Carcosa Seri Negara. Superb!!

Yeah, you can't always expect good food and expensive and posh places.

I read a Maxim article written by Anthony Bourdain. It is called The Art of the Meal. I can't post links yet, but just google it and it will be free to read at Maxim's website. He has some pretty good tips about how to pick a place and the do's and do not's when dining out.
