It is basically a keystroke and mouseclick tracker. Where the program tracks your keystroke and mouseclick you've done with your PC. Don't get it confused with keyloggers or spyware. WhatPulse do not track infomation you typed or the link you clicked. Just keystrokes and mouse clicks(As in, you hit ANY key on the keyboard. It register as 1 keystroke. And a mouse click will register as 1 mouse clicks)

While most program like these relies on extra PC resources during inactivity(like Folding@Home,SETI@Home). WhatPulse statistics relies on user activity with their PC. WhatPulse do not serves much of a cause except to show(perhaps giving you something to brag about in the future) PC-Users activities.

You can sign up here, the programs are here, at current what pulse support windows and linux, but there news that they're developing a Mac version for it. The program does not hog alot of resource and can run in the background without interfering user PC's activity.

Who can us this program?
Everybody, however there are type of PC users that do better at WhatPulse. Mainly those who uses the PC alot like :-
- People who types alot of document.
- Online helpdesk and support
- Forums going users
- Those who chat online very often via mIRC,MSN,YM,DC++ or other form of messengers.

Go to http://www.whatpulse.org to register your account. There is no activation code or whatsoever and you can start pulsing with your account once you registered.

What is the purpose of this program?
There isn't much important purpose to it like Folding@home or Seti@home. For solo effort it usually shows you a level of activity with your PC with numbers of keystrokes and mouseclick.

However when WhatPulse is being used like a group effort and there is alot of keystrokes and mouseclicks pulsing into the ranks. We will see lowyat.net team pushing up the ranking among other group. I have attached details of lowyat.net on the team detail as well. We can make lowyat.net famous among WhatPulse users from all over the world. laugh.gif

How do I get those neat looking signature banner?
You can get it off http:///whatpulse.bounceme.net . From there you will login there with the same account infomation as your WhatPulse. The interface is easy to understand and allows you to use custom images for your banner as well.

My key and clicks statistic doesn't increase on the website either?
You will have to pulse to the server in order to get it updated. You can do this by right clicking on WhatPulse logo and select 'Pulse!' or double clicking the tray icon.

Is it a keylogger?
No it isn't because it doesn't gather infomation like your password or link you clicked. It only records keystrokes and mouse clicks. Not what you typed/clicked.

Will the program work while say like, playing games?
As long as your game involves a mouse or a keyboard WhatPulse will record keys and mouse clicks in game and any application as well.

Tips and Hints
- Lazy to manually pulse? Right click the icon and select Settings/Program Setting. Under server you can set it to auto-pulse for you if you hit certain number of keys/mouseclicks, or even do a timed pulse.

- You can use your account on multiple computer, but only 1 can be active at a time. Log off your WhatPulse from a previous computer before you start using it in another computer.

uPLOAD USING PROXY. THx to mR Dashken

. Download and install CCProxy
2. Go to the options menu
3. Click on the advanced button in the options menu
4. Get the third tab saying "Cascading Proxy" (YOU WILL ONLY CHANGE SETTINGS ON THIS PAGE!!!)
5. Enable it and fill in your proxy, leave it HTTP and set the port to what you have normaly (check your IE settings)
6. Enable "Need Authorization" and fill it in as well
7. press ok, and ok, and your finished.

Now Whatpulse.
8. Go to settings --> Program settings (right click on the tray icon)
9. Enable "Use Proxy" and set the server to : "127.0.0.1" and the port to "808"

WhatPulse do not track infomation you typed or the link you clicked. Just keystrokes and mouse clicks

"track" and "record" are two different things. You cannot, technically, "track" a link. So they're right when they say they do not "track" the link you clicked. That's because they can't. you cannot track a link any more than you can track one footprint. But you can record one link, or one footprint (like when you take a plaster cast of it.) This way, they can track usage, which they didn't say they wouldn't track
