I don't know about you, but graphics is just part of the game. Aren't you more concern about the storyline, gameplay etc...? Doom 3 might have the most advanced graphics engine in the world, but it really disappoint me as a game, I certainly didn't enjoy as much as I did with Doom 2, which I've kept replaying.

Don't forget, the screenshots taken are just early part of the game. (I'm sure VIper007Bond hasn't finished the game yet )

Actually, not really. I don't care all that much about game plots or characters. As long as they have hot women... Seriously, though, I like good graphics and sound.. because self-righteous self-trumpeting vainglorious insufferable I-pretend-I-know-it-all's have no advantage in FP gaming. So I like to do stuff like shoot water and walls and break things. I like atmosphere. At least there's something to admire for about ten minutes before I get killed (again.) Actually I don't so much like G&S as I like atmosphere. The believability of the thing. Like Aquanox -- have you played it ? beautiful underwater environment but the main thing is that it looked like an underwater environment and behaved like it. You had the feeling you were really underwater. That's what I'm looking for -- I want to forget that you're playing a game. I want to have a totally immersive experience (instead of run and gun.) believable G&S is just part of the immersive experience. What you might call "zipless gaming" -- like Erica Jong's "zipless f..." -- a total immersive experience, No zips, no buttons, you go very seamlessly from starting the game to _being_ part of the game. Not a lot of those games now.

Hmm...that is actually more GPU demanding than CPU...AA and AF kill frame rate badly, especially if the GPU is not very powerful.

I know, but the point I'm trying to make is that with AA and AF on in CS Source, the minimum frame rate is still higher than in HL2.

Anyway, some screenshots of water splashing taken specially for wodenus

I think it changes depending on how far you've gone in the game
