So in short Nintendo is desperate. Coming off two straight consoles that where duds, they need some sort of radical plan to get them back on track.

They're not SEGA

I don't think nintendo is trying to compete with 360/ps3. They're aiming to be a secondary console.

Possible, but their actions seem to state otherwise at least to me. From spending a ton on R&D for this new controller to aggressively adding new publishers to develop new games. Heck, they even reduced the oversight they have always done in regards to new game creation for their consoles.

Maybe I misunderstand you, but to my knowledge few people own more than one console at a time, so if they plan on being a secondary console they have chosen a suicidal business plan
