Default PC Gaming going down hill?

Quote:
Deuce

This year I experienced disappointment in PC gaming. Look at the gaming scene - everything's alike nowadays. And alike in a very sucky way.

Shooters, my longtime stronghold, have degenerated into "kill aliens with moronic and irritating AI squadmates" in singleplayer (if there even is a singleplayer mode) or "massively multiplayer team-based realistic yadda yadda yadda....". There's a word for stuff like that, it's called "glorified Counterstrike", and CS is a game I was bored with before Beta 7.

One more thing. How many WWII games can we possibly have? I must have killed the whole Nazi army ten times over.
I saw this from overclockers.com.

It is so funny and yet so true. Seriously, I'm been killing Nazis like forever! I got sick of MOHPA, I just stopped playing.

Hmm.. I can't wait to play the baddies. Why can't I be a Japanese Kamikaze pilot? Okay, it will probably end up as a one-mission game, but what the heck... it's something different at least!

TBH, even in the X-Wing/TIE-Fighter days, I prefer to play TIE-Fighter over X-Wing.

Hmm.. I yearn for the days of interactive movies (like the Tex Murphy games), and space flight sims (e.g. TIE-Fighter) and tactical games like X-Com.

I think that most PC games are not what they used to be because of competition from consoles, and many consoles at that.
