Well the thing is, I had not played it in ages, And it did run with sp2. About a year ago I got a bsod and was forced to do a system restore. And when I did that it broke a lot of my programs. I think the pinball was one and I just did not notice until now. I have not removed the broken file so far. But the strange thing is when I used the file I got from you, It somehow remembered my hi scores... Weird.

When I dl'ed your version, I tried just running the exe. But it would not work. Windows told me I had to extract all the files.

Nah, don't try to run only the .EXE from some dir,
of course that won't work. ^^
Could you overwrite just the pinball.exe in C:\Windows\System32
with the .EXE from the .ZIP and try to run it?
Thnx in advance.

PS: About remembered highscores ... I guess it's saving
it somewhere in your profile, so the "new" pinball is just
using this given information.

Default Same Problem ... But missed the repair

Just like Trinity my 3D Pinball tries to start but actually just flashes on and off.

Searching for pinball files with Explorer I found some other pinball.exe files and a couple of them will open the full screen with the 3D Logo, but with a covering message box which says: "WAVEMIX.INF is missing - it must be in the pinball directory"

It is in that directory with the original pinball.exe. I tried a couple of times to replace that file and to rename it etc. but no luck.

Did Microsoft kill this game with one of their updates?

Thanks, John

Well, I never really fixed it. The original file is still broken.

I just got a new exe. from Bestia(ry) and have it installed somewhere else. Perhaps is you ask him he will let you have it.
