Default 3d Pinball Problems

Inspired by Adrian's PC gift, I got in the mood to play MS 3d Pinball. But it won't run. It starts for just a moment then just disappears. I googled and found this,
http://groups.google.com/group/micro...c3d7e1e25f96da

I have the same problem as he does, But still no fix.

How to reinstall or fix?

Hmm.. This is odd. Doesn't sound like an application issue.

Can you check your Device Manager to see if there are any hardware/driver issues?

It won't let me even try that, The check boxes are grey. And it says I cannot run it in compatability mode because pinball is a part of windows xp.

I just looked at that and everything appears ok, what should I be checking there?

Try this one ->
http://dragonautics.co.at/pub/Pinball_recover.zip

Dun worry, this is my server, there's no virus, trojan or
similar in it. ^^

Just dl, extract to where you like and run it.
If it works, overwrite your Pinball-folder with this one and you're done.

Now I just have to figure out how to "overwrite" the file.

Np.

Usually it should be located at C:\Windows\System32\pinball.exe ...
Or you could just move the whole Pinball-folder to
Program Files and modify the shortcut (would
be safer at all). ^^

Afaik is it somehow an issue with SP2.
There's more than just the plain .EXE (.ZIP containing
67 files), maybe Trinity would be willing to copy
only the pinball.exe from the .ZIP to C:\Windows\System32\...,
then we would know for sure. ^^
