Halo2 for XP Petition.

Considering the long wait PC users had to endure for Halo,it is more than a kick in the teeth that Halo 2 will only be available on vista, "in about the time it took to create the pyramids"!.
There is a petition at(not sure how to create the link ?) "petitiononline.com/mod_perl/petition-sign.cgi?H2XP2000".
Msoft has really spat on the pc gamers considering that the money to create xbox/xbox360 came mainly from the gamers & pc users to start with.The majority of pc's have XP installed, so if everyone takes the 30 seconds involved to tick the box,I bet they would cave in!
Please sign it,there is none of the usual mucking around involved.

I'd rather a petition to rid the gaming world of Starforce be in place then this since it's a bigger pain compared to any outstanding issues. psy's would agree

I don't think it would be feasible for MS to even change it to non vista. They made it DX10. Like it or not, this is progress. XP days are limited (support cutoff will come within a few years) and DX10 is Vista only. Like it or not, thats where everyone will have to be sooner or later.

Instead of petitioning over a 3 year old game, I would rather have MS release the damn thing on PC faster! 3 years is retarded slow any way you slice it!

But thats marketing, pure and simple to push the sales of the Xbox.

Yea lol. Starforce. ME HATES STARFORCE!

DYKT I've read somewhere it's actually possible to make XP DX10? It seems like DX10 is the only good reason to upgrade!

I guess it should be possible to make XP DX10-enabled. it's just software anyway. Just that MS decided not to so that people would upgrade to DX10

Considering that a DX10 card can be used with XP,I'm sure there would be little effort.We are talking HL2 by the way,it was designed years ago,so what DX10 features would need to be ported to XP.There is no reason for it not to be available on XP except sly & cynical marketing strategies.
Comes back to "how dare they use the profits we supplied to them en-masse for ME &XP etc, then exclude the same people unless they buy a new console or vista op sys as well". BAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!!
If you where one of the people, that waited for Halo1 when it was still slated as a pc release before it was stolen to become xbox' poster game,you will understand exactly how they like to shaft their regular customers.

Come on vote!.What have you got to lose?

C'mon guys, this post needs to be kept alive a little longer.Why should we have to upgrade to vista just to play this game?
The game doesn't require any DX10 properties ,so there is no need to cop it."A few extra realtime shadows & reflections does not a DX10 game make"!

Referring back to posts regarding converting xp to dx10.If you think back only a few years to when we were upgrading ME. to DX8 &9 using the dxredist updates.MS hasn't got a leg to stand on, if it claims that it would be too dificult for them to do.It's hard not to be cynical about this, when you can blatantly smell the rort thru the comp screen.

We should not have to. But that's what Microsoft insists on. If you can do everything just fine on Windows XP, who's going to buy Vista?

For Vista to succeed, there has to be at least one killer feature. ReadyBoost and SuperFetch aren't it. You can bet that Microsoft is counting on DX10 to help shift at least the gamers to Vista.

I don't think it's impossible, but you can count on Microsoft NOT doing it. It doesn't make economic sense to do so. They want people to MOVE en masse to Vista.
