Default Crysis 64bit vs 32bit

I don't care if my neighbor screams @me for all the noise..

this week is crysis week. Im enjoying every moment of the blur effect when you turn around.

anyway, below are some preliminary results comparing the performance of 64-bit crysis vs 32-bit. Yerli, the CEO of crytek who seems to be doing a lot more talking than developing the game claims that crytek's "64-bit crysis in general runs better than 32-bit" and that he would in fact "recommend gamers run 64-bit only under very high configurations"

interesting.

testbed= yorkfield 3.0ghz, x38, 4GB DDR2-800, 8800GT (v169.02)

16x12 very high

64bit: 13.55fps
32bit: 13.56fps

16x12 high

64bit: 26.81fps
32bit: 26.75fps

16x12 medium

64bit: 53.22fps
32bit: 53.6fps

maybe i did something wrong in setting up the demo, or..well..yerli is full of it..

nevertheless, looking forward to the retail version. wanna kick more Kim Jong-il's kakis' asses

LOL!!! Absolutely no difference.

Actually, I don't think 32-bit/64-bit will make a difference unless Crysis really needs to address more than 3GB of memory. Highly unlikely.

cant confirm for sure, but a local distri did tell me about this very interesting 8900 part..

but then again, putting SLI setup aside, i doubt a newer geforce 8 can handle crysis at 16x12, very high + AA settings. gtx and ultra barely make it.

we need a new geforce that offers 2x the current geforce 8's performance.

Yeah, well, it's logical for NVIDIA to release a G92 replacement for the higher-end cards BEFORE Christmas. I don't think we need to worry.

Hehe.. That's why NVIDIA is SO enthusiastic about Crysis. It will help them sell SLI.
