That would have been a better pick than Audiosurf. I don't like it that much

While I disagreed on some of the nominations, the overall GOTY, I totally agree with. I knew it the moment I played it on launch day. I knew it again when I got a second copy on the PS3 and I will expect to relive it once again once I get it on the PC (just to complete things I guess ).

That is, after a GPU upgrade.

The attention to detail is simply amazing in that game. The world of Niko Bellic is a dirty dirty world in some parts (it shows with the crappy roads, debris, construction, gangs, etc) yet posh in others (downtown) and I am glad that a van drives like a van, an old 70s/80s car can't take corners, and a sports car loves getting its tail loose (only gripe I have about the driving is a little less rev limiter LOL). It set bars as well as records (sales, revenues, heck it cuts into movie territory).

Fallout3 as GoTY for the PC is (waiting on the 3 DLCs coming).

But for the PS3, I think that MGS4 really should have been it.

It was really hard. GTAIV blew my mind away (even more so when I got it for the PS3 - aah draw distance). MGS4 blew my mind on the PS3 a few months after (for hours and hours - definitely sets the bar for console graphics - as well as cutscenes). GoW2 was awesome but it wasn't a MGS4/GTAIV.

But GTAIV is my all time favorite game (currently). I love the GTA franchise (have played ALL of them - well maybe until the DS one comes out... ). But GTAIV had so much going for it (hype and previews). It was the first game I have ever pre-ordered as well as the only game I bought for multiple platforms. (shame on that 'someone' that didn't finish it yet... )

I thought Little Big Planet should get more nomination. I think it's a very interesting game. Based of a normal platform game, but it has brought many new things. It's also one of the very few games I can play with others!

GTA4, MGS4 are all excellent games, but being a sequel and not really new in most aspects, GOTY award is merely about them polishing them to a new height. But that's just me.
