haha I have a compaq 1240 and 1260.

I transferred the screen from the 1240 to the 1260 (the 1260's screen was broken) in the hope that as a laptop the 1260 was less hopeless

Alas, it turns out that both laptops are absolute crap when it comes to being a laptop :/

They're not even any good at being a low power server carcas

I use this to DJ once a week for the last 5 years, for some reason it's the best sounding laptop i own. I use it for nothing but DJing, I can't seem to find a better sounding laptop.

Toshiba Portege 2000
Just my knockaround computer it's got an image of the drive so I can install and test software before putting it on my main PC. Also serves as a loaner for guests.

MADDog drive enclosure with 120GI maxtor for a backup of my music collection.

Dell Latitude D810
Full Hardcore workhorse. It's my work PC and I also use it for gaming and music creation.

and my newest toy the herculese DJ Console I use to make my mixes. With the help of Virtual DJ it turns my computer and MP3 collection into a set of turntables.
Wah! So many computers! Give me one...

I still have 2 more not worth showing. They are also loaners for my guests. 900MHz compaq and a 400MHz HP. I rarely even turn them on so I left them out of the shot I was testing my ability to stream and record a live set. I needed extra processing power to attempt to output multiple streams at different bitrates.

Notebooks just rocks!
You can bring them anywhere... even when you are having tea/coffee with frens.

But it is far more expensive than desktop which has the same specs..
Besides, it is quite easy to be spoilt if you do not take good care of it. Like splitting coffee on top of it..

And when it's spoilt, you will go through hell to fix it. The parts are expensive.

*points at Panasonic Toughbook*

You'll go through hell to buy it but it sure won't break because you spilt coffee on it!
