Default I've been feeling... Mac-Curious.

I've always been a PC user and a PC fan for the choice of hardware, but when MacWorld came about this year I started feeling funny.

I’ve tried chasing the feelings away by sticking a new 250gb hard drive in my AMD Windows box and giving it a RAM job, but when I was sliding in that glistening new DDR400 DIMM, I realized, to my horror, I was thinking about a Mac.

Looking back, I can recall setting in multiple Starbucks or in McDonald's eating my food while typing away on my Dell Inspiron 9200 - except one day, it all changed.

One day I was in Starbucks and as I glanced up from my screen for a moment to sip my coffee, I noticed a man using his G4 Powerbook smirking at me. I was instantly flabbergasted and I stormed out of the shop without powering down and my notebook in hand.

See, I'm not sure how to break it to my family. They all use PCs and most consider Macs to be for the artsy-fartsy Vegetarian types who go to the Opera. While PCs are for us meat eatting alcoholics, we treat them like a classic American muscle car setting in the driveway on bricks, "Soon I'll have enough money saved up to drop me an AMD X2 Dual core." *Sips Lipton tea in a bottle*

So how can I break this sudden urge to my family? Or should I ignore it completely? Maybe I should take a MacBook Pro to Thanksgiving, I'm sure they'll figure it out then.

Dear Dewayne,

Having being a user of the elegant iPod Nano from Apple-Mac, I've only good things to say about this piece of technology. It certainly is worth it's weight in gold, althought some may disagree.

I also was fortunate to have sampled the Mac-Mini as well, a piece of engineering delight if I do say so myself. Simple to use, pleasing to the eye and portable as hell.

With that said, I have no doubt Apple-Mac has invested a lot to ensure the transition from a PC user to a Mac user is trouble free.

Thus, there is no point to deny it. Give in to your urges and drop by your local Mac-Donald and satisfy yourself with a Mac.

I'm lovin' it, so will you.

I may purchase an iMac or a MacBook Pro later this year, as a birthday present to myself or a Christmas gift to myself.

Now, if only I was buy-curious and had a spare $2000...

LOL! A lot of people here have that same wish of having extra dough to splurge on hardware...

Which Starbucks might that one be? I tend to hang around different starbucks and smirk at users of lesser notebooks a lot

Nay, Mac users r not artsy-fartsy Vegerarian types who go to the Opera and PC users are not meat eating alcoholics who uses the machine like the classic American muscle car. More like, PC users are for the conservative of mind, while Macs are for those who like to push the extremes, and dare to be different.

The Mac is a fantastic work horse too. I was importing a large schema into Oracle running on me Powerbook (a task that usually takes 20 minutes) and guess what? I was able to play neverwinternights without any noticable lag at the same time too, while waiting for the database to import in the background.

And finally, perish the thought on vegetarians.. ergh. I refuse to touch the green stuff. Bad for karma u know. Poor defenseless green things who cant even run away when you go and harvest them, unlike the chickens or cows who r at least capable of trying to fight back.
