Default Keyboard Lock...

Yes. Keyboard lock - some old stuff in PC arena, isn't it?

I remembered that these 386s and 486s and Pentiums (1st Generation) have those lock in front of the case. If you get a PC around that time you are given a key for these right? Hee heh...

But why suddenly on newer computers they don't use the lock anymore? I mean, that's a security right? Locking the keyboard so someone couldn't use it?

LOL! Old school!

I don't think they are needed anymore with a secure OS like Win XP.

LMAO! Now you know why it's not used anymore!

But there are still cases with lock that prevents people from opening up the cases.

1.) bios passwords where introduced.
2.) the locks where hopelessly easy to bypass.

I like the "key disks" better you would have a 5.25 in floppy that the first 8 bytes where the Ascii codes for "password", With out the disk the computer would not boot up right.

Yeah - these locks are extremely easy to be bypassed.

My bro's friend told me that he accidently locked his PC. And the key - he misplaced it again. So he used some pins and all the stuff, twist - turn it and voila!! The keyboard is unlocked...

And long time ago my pa used to lock my PC because I was naughty.

But when he's not around I bypassed the lock discreetly (please - don't ever try that!!) with a head of a Kilometrico pen (I unscrewed and removed the top)....

I admit I was so mischievous at that time. Heh hehh...
