anyone here using CHAINTECH AV-710 soundcard? i heard it's pretty good for Stereo output.

From what I've been reading lately it seems onboard sound manufacturers have kept adding more &more features without really decreasing the cpu hit.But having said that ,they have been squeezing alot more features into that same percentage load!

I never really like or used any onboard; I prefer PCI cards so my games run as fast as they can.

I would have agreed with you on this a few years back but ever since Nvidia's on board sound solution, I think there's hardly any performance hit noticeble from using on board solutions.

Well, even on dedicated sound boards, you may still get performance hits, such as using those EAX features.

use b4 n jus sold it

best bang for bucks for 2.0/2.1 setup..absolutely good sounding card for its price

noler..was using av-710 but jus sold it away coz it sucks wid headphone..

so now wana hunt for philips or prodigy..the philips is external n connect using usb..but from how my fren review n from many user testimonial it sound close to emu0404
