Reputation: 0 ![]() Rep Power: 0 | hello all, thanks for looking at this thread, lets hope u can help me. my pc was set up (b4 i cleared it) with 2hd's, 1 was set as primary master (200gb sata) which had windows installed on it and the other was a non sata 40gb set as 3rd slave apparently this was the only they (computer shop) could get both hds to work, which is what i wanted, but now i wiped all the sata hd and installed windows onto the 40gb hd, everything works fine as it is still set up the same in bios (200gb being prime master and 40gb being 3rd slave) BUT when i look in "my computer" only the 40gb hd with windows on it is showing, when i checked in "device manager" under "disk drives" both hd's are there? when i went back into "my computer" and right clicked on the 40gb under properties - hardware again both hd's are there? both say they are working fine, the 200gb is set in location 0(0) and the 40gb 1(1). can anyone help me out? how can i get the hd to show under my computer?? sorry for the essay lol ![]() |

Assuming you have Windows XP Pro (not sure if this is in Home or not) right click on My Computer and select Manage. Under the Storage category, click on Disk Management. All drives should be there except a Floppy drive if you have one. If the 200GB has nothing in it, then it has no partition. If you need help on doing the, the help topics seem to be pretty thorough. You would want to create a partition using a basic volume. As for that being an essay, I think not. You eliminated multiple things with all the info! Very good!
