Default LCD response test

http://www.prad.de/en/monitore/pixperan.html

Instructions are extremely cryptic (poorly translated from whatever language it was written in, I'm guessing) but there's a couple of good tests - the Chase and Readability ones. I think it's a nice common ground to test LCD response whilst ignoring manufacturers' bs specs.

Tested both my monitors, my faithful old BenQ FP557 and my new Viewsonic VA902. FP557 got 11.6ms for Chase yellow and 18.3ms for red. The blue block was a little bit weird so I didn't take note of the result. You'll probably see what I mean when you run the test. Readability test: completed tempo 8, gave up at 9.
VA902: 26.6ms for Chase yellow, 36.6ms for Chase red, couldn't read the letters beyond tempo 6

I really regret buying this monitor now

Moneytor and monitor, both are different. I'll go for CRT anyday. Unless someone give me $$$ to get a $$$tor.

The chase test is not really comparable unless we do the test side by side...

My more agressive results

Chase test: 5(16.7ms), 4(13.3ms), 6(20.0ms)

Yeah true. But even a rough comparison is still better than the stupid 8ms/12ms specs

@ PsY: I would find it extremely difficult to go back to CRT now. It's like broadband and dialup

Maybe you can do the chase test to confirm my accuracy...

I was skeptical about the response time of LCD at first, because I would say I'm quite choosy when comes to I/O devices, and I'm glad I got this monitor. No turning back! No freaking way.
