Help My HDD

Who can help me to fix my HDD? My System BIOS cannot detect my HDD, so do you have any ideal to make my HDD alive? I need to recover my data, many important data inside my HDD.

If the hdd cannot be detected on another PC, I think it's as good as dead.

Or you can go and ask help from some recovery center that recover HDD for a sum of money... the last I heard from Adrian, it's not cheap. Something like RM700?

Yeah, the recovery software is very very expensive. If there's very important data inside, might as well send it to the professional and get all of these contents extracted.

I heard from someone else that one can put a dead HDD in a freezer and take it back and connect it to the comp. Wonder will it work again??

That's tough... I hate it when it happens.

You can try it with another PC but I doubt it will help.

There may be anecdotal accounts of people freezing the hard drive and then giving it a try, but I don't know if it will really work...

The best but most expensive alternative is to consult a data recovery specialist. It will just require a replacement of a dead controller board, or it will require actually retrieving data from the platters.

I try to put my HDD into other system and it can detect my HDD in BIOS but b4 the system go to POST screen prompt a message "Slave primary HDD error" press "del" to resume.

Additionl, windows also cannot detect my hdd.

Any ideal?

Looks like your HDD is really dead.

Yeah, will have to concur with Chai.

But just wondering, when you tested in the second system, did you swap IDE cable? Or did you reuse the old one?
