Exclamation

This is a common problem on older versions of Windows that have not received the free patch from the Microsoft Update site. To correct your current session you will have to use the mouse to shut down completely (power off, not standby or restart). When you turn on your system all should be well.

I don't mean to be arrogant; but in all of my years as a technician I don't think I have ever caught a glimpse of the awspicious BIOS bug you refer to. I have seen poorly written BIOS's, I have seen malfunctioning (aka very badly written) BIOS's, and I have seen users mess up the settings in their BIOS, but I don't think I have ever happened upon a BIOS bug. At least not one that sprung up out of nowhere.

Er...then you certainly don't have enough experience with BIOS.

I think he meant after waking up from standby, keyboard not functioning.
