Default Calculating Power Consumption

Can any one recommend a web page that will provide the amount of watts used per component, eg CPU, processors etc.

Got a new case with a 250 W (PFC) Micro ATX PSU, so just want to know that everything in the case won't cause the psu to have a heart attack.

Cheers

Noodle

You can try this as a rough guide: http://www.extreme.outervision.com/psucalculator.jsp
However, it doesn't take into account the uneven power draw from the various rails on your power supply. Eg. most modern CPUs and graphics cards draw quite a lot from the +12V rail.

Agreed 250w seems rather low for todays PC's. I've been unable to locate any Micro ATX PSU over 300 watts. They seem to be non existent. Haven't got the option of adding a ATX psu, it just won't fit, plus i really don't want to change my case. Any sugegstions.

Micro ATX systems are not meant to be a powerstation. A low power Conroe seems perfect in them.

MicroATX systems are not meant to be powerful gaming rigs.

Understand now?
