Samsung Harddisks

Yo... been looking at lowyat prices, and noticed Samsung 2.5" 120GB disk for RM415. 8mb cache and 5400rpm.

Anybody used Samsung disks lately? Any ideas on the quality and performance of the current disks from them?

use a 40gb 5400 rpm version .. ... starts giving me problem after 2 years

random clicks ..

..

sometimes transfering file... then clicks... have to unplug & replug..

sometimes leave it on for couple of hours.. then clicks

i'm using the 100gb version..
no problem encountered so far..
but sadly, performance SAME (on paper) as my old toshiba 60gb 4200rpm..
surprisingly, it not as hot & noisy & less vibration on full spin..

if u are going for performance, get the 7200rpm ones..

i hear samsung hdd is very quiet .. maybe not the notebook hdd la.
