Default Need Help pls :-(

friends,

this is the prob......

when downloading, in the middle of downloading, the computer will auto restart. Why??? The worst thing is this. It restart is not due to hardware problem. Why I say so? This is because, it is as though someone press the restart button itself, and it is properly shut down then restart itself again. So, the Q comes, what is the problem. Other functions no problem.

Please help, a bit desperate.

Is this ONLY during a download?

You say NOT hardware... what makes you so sure? ...what have you checked or tested?

What are your temperatures, voltages?

Yes, it happens only during download! The rest everything, no prob. How you do anything also no prob. Also, the way it restarts is not like when you have a hardware prob, just pop off just like that. That which the restart experience is like you PROPERLY shut down RESTART thing!

OK, my next Q...

Is it a particular d/l site or all d/l sites?
Is this for all d/l sizes big and small?

IMO, it could be anyone of several things...
1. Temp dir fills up while downloading.
2. Spyware / trojan horse
3. d/l can stress memory and cause hangs & reboots

Just to let you know the hardware issues can cause a system to restart randomly, so are driver issues.

The first thing I would do is rule out hardware issues first.
