I went ahead and reinstalled iTunes and my new system is finally running like it should have been from the beginning. I'm still on the fence on whether I'm going to stick with the onboard audio (it's a lot better than I expected) and sell the Creative X-FI card or use the card and disable the DLLML.exe file.
