building a pc with $700

my friend asked me to build a pc with $700
i'm not used to the prices in US so i'm asking some help.
he wants to plays games

i dunno what games but to me it seems impossible

any recommendations ?

Does he have anything you reuse at all?? Like a monitor or keyboard/mouse? Or is this going to be a totally complete system?

That's possible... but IMHO, you will have to go for a really budget system, based on the AMD AM2 and maybe a low-end graphics card like the 7300 GT.
