My MX510 is still alive after over 2 years of heavy usage. Hardly any wear top side but the feet looks like it doesn't have much more to give.

Hopefully it will last for a bit more.

Plus I heard (from a few people - like AAY) that their drivers suck more than a vacuum cleaner.

Got a Diamondback, like some frens, for years now ...
Not a single prob.
It's all about handling ... and some luck maybe. ^^
But that's brand-independently.

Drivers?
Working well and on some RAM-powered gaming-rig it
doesn't matter if they take a 'lil bit more or less
memory at all ... ^^

But back2t.

AAY has a diamondback I THINK.... He said he can't program a button and the drivers messes up another. something along that line.

Although I still don't like the shape of the G5 that much, but I like it much better than the IE4 I'm using now. A real POS cheaply made mouse. The plastic is cheap, the paint fades, the left click is not working well, and this is the second mouse replacement I got from Microsoft.

You must know that the versatile middle click of G5 is awful hard to click (specially when you are new with it), but a small workaround exists.
Make a profile for the game(s) you play in Setpoint and assign a keyboard shortcut to either left or right tilt instead of using the middle click.
Tilting the wheel on either side is more than awful easy and my grudge against the middle click vanished as soon as I found out about it.
Or just assign the middle button function to the left tilt
So easy, I did that the 2nd day I got the mouse. Can't use Firefox properly otherwise
