That's one way of navigating but I still prefer the side buttons since I first got a proper mouse which was *ahem* Microsoft Cordless Freedom Mouse (Yeah I know it sucks)

Well, I don't have any choice when G5 came with only 1 thumb button, and it was one of the cheapest 2000dpi mouse (bought in US hehe).

I was a first gen optical mouse owner, changed to IE3, IE4, then only G5.

die hard arrrrr
6 years and still going strong

of all my components, this is the only one that has nver been upgraded.

someone please help me to kill it, so that i can get a new mouse

How do you want it killed? There are only a few basic strokes with a knife.

Try drowning it... and then ask MS for a replacement mouse!
