Default Power supply fried...

Hi I am new to the forum but need help.
I have a Asus A7N8X deluxe 2.0 mobo with a Raid array supporting two barracuda hd's. The power supply smoke checked itself and it won't reboot.
The bottom line is Windows is corrupt. I did a repair install yesterday and all was well but some of the programs were corrupt as well. So I had the idea that since I have a complete hard drive backup that I did a month ago that I could just restore that and be good. Well no.
After I did the restore, the computer won't reboot again. How do I do this??? I wanted to get back to exactly what I had. Is that possible? The backup was done using windows and I did the whole drive.
Thanks for you help!

I don't think the Windows backup allows you to backup everything and makes the Windows bootable. Some of the hidden files and in used files may not be backup.

Windows strikes again. One would think that if you were backing up the entire drive that Windows would include itself!
That is exactly what is happening. It is asking for files, and then it doesn't allow an older Windows to be installed over the newer dated Windows.

The best way to backup the whole Windows drive is by using Norton Ghost. I think you have to reinstall a fresh Windows, and copy back what ever file that you need from your backup.
