I bought a Liteon 16x SATA lately. It's not like 20x is that much faster, plus the recording quality at such high speed is not guaranteed.

I'm on my fourth Lite-On burner....had a LG DVD-RW for a while, sucks, most of my old CDRs, DVDRs cannot read. Ended up getting another Lite-on.

I personally think that it's all almost the same these days. All OEM from here and there. Right now, I'm using an external LG drive.... works well

I have no idea why, but my LG has a lot of problems with TDK media, once I switch to Mitsubishi or BenQ, all problems gone. I thought my LG was dying LOL.

Firmware update is very important. Another thing I like about Liteon is updated firmware being released. I recently bought a Liteon SATA and it was quite crap. After updating the firmware, the compatibility improved!
