Default Need advice on building my new PC

I am looking for some advice on building my new PC. It has been a while since I have built my own, so I am hoping someone can point out any potential issues you see with the setup I am considering. I will use my PC primarily for gaming, but am also going to be doing some video editing in the near future. I plan on sticking with air cooling too, instead of liquid-cooled. I'm still not comfortable with liquids inside my computer case. I'm not sure which mobo to go with - I guess I need to match one that has a 1066 FSB to utilize the speed of the CPU, as well as 1066 RAM support, right? I don't want anything made by Abit since the last 2 Abit mobos I had died early in their life. I am trying to keep the total cost between 1500-2000 USD. I do not plan on overclocking my system.

My current consideration is:
CPU: Intel quad-core Q6600 (because it is quad core and much cheaper than the other quads)
RAM: 2 GB Corsair Dominator TWIN2X20488500C5D (seems to be pretty fast with 1066 speed)
Mobo: <not sure here>
Video: eVGA nvidia 8800 GTX (must-have for gaming!)
Case: Cooler Master Cosmos RC-1000 (because it looks really cool and got good reviews)
Power: 750W Thermaltake W0117RU (I've read good things about it - I think 750w would be enough power - I hope)
OS: Windows Vista Ultimate (I still have XP, so I can load too if I have issues)

equipment to reuse from old system:
HDs: Seagates - 250 & 400 GB @ 7200
Optical Drives: DVD drives x2
Audio: Creative Labs Sound Blaster x-gamer (I will upgrade this in a few months when I get a bigger speaker system)
Monitor: 19" Viewsonic (will upgrade to 24" in a few months)

Well, these are the specs I am planning on using. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Quad core is HOOOOOTT!

I think quads are beyond air cooling.

For mobo, especially if you're going quad or whatever, Asus P5K Premium...

Is there a need to spend so much on such mainboards? He doesn't plan on overclocking his system.

Yeah, a normal P35 chipset board should be more than sufficient.

btw, a 500-600W range PSU is already more than sufficient for your setup. You still have enough watts to spare for another 8800GTX card.

Desktop Penryns are slated to roll out Q1 of 2008. If you wait for newer things, you will always wait. Quads run real hot. G0 is cooler but still hot.

And please type properly.
