Default Gaming issues.

I think I'm posting this in the right place, if I'm not I apologize, I'm new to the forums, but I've been having this problem with my computer for over two years now, I honestly don't feel like re-typing everything, but heres a link from another forum that tried to help me, and I'd highly appreciate it if you guys could try to help as well.

http://www.overclock.net/amd-general...th4200-x2.html
So far its 42 pages long, and 411 posts long.

Like I said any help at all would be excellent, .

Hi there!

Have you looked at the PSU yet? I've read some of the posts (quite lengthy!) and Rosewill PSU isn't actually of the best quality. Try to borrow another PSU to see the results first in the meantime.

Umm.. Would it be possible for you to at least post what the problem is, and your system specs??? Then we don't have to wade through 42 pages to find out.

Never mind. I'll post it for you :

I play Counter-Strike: Source, and it's really choppy on my computer and I can't seem to figure out why, I have more than enough to run it without any problems at all yet its still terrible, I was wondering if anyone could help me. At first I thought it was the motherboard, and I upgraded, that still hasn't changed anything. Specs.
Motherboard = A8N-SLI SE
Processor = 4200+ x2, 2.2GHz stock, 939.
Video Card = BFG 7950GT OC 512mb
Ram = 1.5gb, 2 Nanya Technologies and 1 Wintec Ampo, all 512's and same speeds.
Power Supply = 480w Rosewill.

Also I don't know why but when I used my friends 1gb stick of ram without anything else, it ran Source crappy like it always does, but bullets actually worked, lol. I'd appreciate it if anyone could help me with this, I've been trying to figure it out for the past 6 months.

Yeah, I would take a look at the power supply... and did you plug in the 6-pin power connector for your graphics card?

Sorry about not posting the specs in the main one, but I thought if I just linked it then people would be able to see what I have tried before instead of just the problem, . Should have done both, anyway, I haven't tried a new power supply recently, and yes I have the 6 pin plugged in, but I also experienced the same problem a while ago with a 580w psu from ace-power. I've used speed-fan to make sure my voltages were all right for the power supply, so far so good, charts are somewhere in the other thread.

Well, I guess we will have to go with the standard - "Did you update your motherboard BIOS + graphics card driver?"

Yes I did . And I've tried many different drivers to make sure that I didn't have any wrong ones, and yes I used a driver cleaner or formatted before trying the other driver to ensure the old one was gone.

Okay, is the PSU SLi compatible? SLi-supported PSU might have some features which is required for SLi boards maybe.

He's not even using an SLi card...

Could it be you're not using original software?

What about the motherboard BIOS? Has it been updated?

And did you plug in the 6-pin power cable to your graphics card?
