Well, it's still useful in some other manner.

If the office bought that thing in 96-97 (check the warranty sticker - they might have a clue there) you could be lucky - this thing may be upgradable to at least a 166MMX. (provided if the board supports dual-power-plane thingy). If you want a 166 MMX I have one there - I can give it to you too.

Since the 2nd hand EDO is too expensive, it isn't worth upgrading anymore. If you manage to find 8mb sticks you are lucky. if you manage to find 16mb ones for a low price even better.

This thing could work as a simple router using command line interface with linux system. Try searching around for more hints.

Also, I have a totally rebuilt, salvaged Pentium 200MMX rig there with a 4MB S3 Virge DX video card. Fortunately the board is Asus VX97 - that one is very rock solid despite almost killing it permenantly. Now it's for my 'experiment' rig - where I'm planning to do PIC programming in there too.

If you have cousins that are like 5 or 6 year old then give it to them to play around with.

Or if I were you I would open it up and tinker it with like overclocking it or something lol.

Take this opportunity to clean it up!

Get a bucket of water, a wet cloth and clean it up. Then check out the amount of dirt in the water!
