Ya think MR 48 hours

Like I said I will consider a laptop for work if I become as busy as our fearless leader but for now the desktop runs just fine

Well, for me..I'll get both. Desktop still won't die since we can't do much stuff on normal/average laptop (don't include those freaking expensive laptops xD). While those high end laptop are capable of doing what desktop can do to~ Like Alienware laptops XD

Desktop is da way! but desktop can't follow you when you travel.

Notebook to me has many purpose, one of it is my mobile storage. eg - when snapping in RAW files, run out of space. you can transfer the files over to the notebook and continue snapping again.

of course, arguably bringing multiple memory cards would be more cost effective but then I don't have many CF. Notebook would allow me to have preview too.

Desktop ftw. Chai covered all of my points nicely.

I use my Laptop for travel but in home it's strictly for RDing to my desktop while I play console games or if I'm sitting @ the throne...

Having been stuck to a laptop for 5 months (waiting for money), I can definitely say desktop is far, far better for every single use.

Yup. Normally I use both desktop and laptop at work. Laptop for meeting and mostly everything else... desktop when my laptop is occupied or I want to find source code and code it on my laptop, then I use desktop. Laptop more personal too due to the smaller screen size. I don't want people to know what I'm doing. Like now...

Desktop has a widescreen though, which I don't use much. Coz lazy want to change source through the menu. I'm linking the VGA to my laptop and the DVI cable to my desktop. Hehe..

At home, desktop!

Laptops also break a lot easier than desktops. And when they do you gotta return it to the manufacturer and that might take a while. With desktops, you just run to a tech shop, buy a replacement and then RMA the old hardware. Almost no downtime
