Reputation: 0 ![]() Rep Power: 0 | You can tell me what you think of this one! Wish list details Don't know whats going on with the url.. (note: has mail in rebates on the psu and vidcard) My goal was to make the most bang for buck in an upgrade while keeping the rig stable and less prone to breakdowns and such.. the original build was a E2180 with a gforce 8800gs but that e7 is so darn cheap now! My reasoning: That motherboard is the cheapest version I can find that has an 8-phase voltage regulator (EPU).. Which is far better than the standard 3-4 phase ones you find on most boards. 45nm cpu + cheap = I've had very little issue with mushkin, they seem to know how to make stable modules. Evga has a nice warranty system, in addition to selling the cheapest 512mb 8880gt on newegg. The psu isn't a PFC, but it is very cheap vs the 12+V amp rails and stability of the unit. To boot, the PSU is compatable with both 4 and 8 pin mobo connectors~ I'd much rather go for a corsair but this raidmax was cheaper.. tell me if I'm going the wrong direction here! finally: I use the arctic cooler (amd version) on an old socket 754 with a well-ventilated case, the stock cooler could barely cool it to 70 deg centigrade on load, now the cpu can't go past 45 centigrade, I call that a good deal for 20-30 bucks. However I could probably go for a nirvana or such instead. Last edited by Midicow : 11th May 2008 at 02:40 AM. Reason: wtf url |

Reputation: 180 ![]() ![]() Rep Power: 4 | well, if it's me..go for the 450w..should be more then enough for your current set up. but then the earlier psu you chose also is cheaper but lacks of pfc...but it's the verdict is in your hands |

Reputation: 0 ![]() Rep Power: 0 | GIGABYTE DES and ASUS EPU Tested :: TweakTown Icic AnandTech: Gigabyte goes "Green" with DES software 8D According to that, DES works even with prime95, and the GA-EP35 is cheaper and looks like it has better quality mosphets and such. Changed that. Mostly I'm looking for a cheap but stable board, and the extra features (which intel boards seem to lack over amd boards). That this board comes with something that can potentially make stuff that % more efficient, is a neat thing.. Mostly its that the "gimmick" has increased demand for the product and brought the price down, and that its made with parts that won't die within a year.
