i'll put it this way

PC3200 is actually 200mhz, but DDR speed is 400mhz, therefore they are called DDR 400.

PC6400 is actually 400mhz, but DDR speed is 800mhz, therefore they are called DDR2 800.

you can run CPU-Z to verify this.

Yes I am aware of that and thanks but the quote I posted came from the link that contained info about his motherboard. I assumed this was referring to the actual memory bus speed. Because if it isn't he can't run PC3200 ram on that motherboard ... he will have to run PC2700

as far as i know ur both right.

mac daddy said it without the dual rate and everyone else was saying it with the dual rate included.

so from what i have read in all the above posts. faster ram is backward compatible with slower FSB so therefore the link and the description provided is true.

Yes that should be fine it will drop back to DDR333.
