You might want to grab a notebook cooler or maybe raise the back of your laptop by a centimeter so cool air can run under it, that is if you temps don't get any better. Bios update maybe?

Unless the 2.5" is a enterprise drive, they are not mean to be run 24/7. Ambient operating temperature is usually measure within 1 inch form the drive and not the drive temperature itself. Some drives has temperature sensor and would shut it down if overheat is detected. Temperature is a strong factor that determine the reliability of your drive. Running it a near max temperature would only shorten your drive life span. Good luck to your drive..

already using a notebook cooler, and bios updated already.

thanks for the explanation.

I just shutdown my laptop for couple of hours, then turn on, and browsing for a couple minutes, the temperature already 42 C and rising

i think it's normal. My old laptop hdd should to run as high as 56c swt >_< Getting a laptop cooling pad should actually work to help cool down the hdd (a good 1 of coz). Investing on a good cooling pad is worthy,don't go get a cheap 1 T_T..1 of my laptop died coz i got a cheap cooling pad =/..Now I'm using CM Infinite (You should try this..it's good imo xD)
