Hard Disk Failling

hey everyone, i have 2 hard disk

WD1200JB ATA
WF2500KS SATA

but the problem is, my windows have not been stable ( i do not know when because this is my home pc & i just got back)

when i launch a hdd health problem, it says my ATA health is 0% while the SATA health is 1%

i opened up the SMART attributes & i can see that the ATA (C7 UDMA CRC Error Count) is (worse = 253,value = 200 threshold = 40)

do you think is the hard disk problem or maybe the motherboard problem ? or something else ? .. i think i might need to disassembled this whole computer.. thx.

Hmm.. Looks like your hard drive isn't functioning right. Have you done a hard drive scan yet? Do a thorough one and look for bad sectors, but even if they are not present it doesn't mean your drive is not failing.

BTW check your SATA and IDE cables too. If they are old, replace them. See if that helps.

did a scan on my main drive. no bad sectors..

i have no idea whats making both of them "fail"
i do know i am having a lot of application crashed

The SMART attribute looks alrite as the value did not drop below the threshold value.

Do go ahead and do a full scan of your drive to determine the health of your drives. Let me know if you have the software to do so, else I would point you the software.

I always had problems with IDE cables, I really hate them

Luckily we have SATA now.

Yeah, mine failed on me one day. I thought the drive was dead. LOL!
